Vintage Hollywood Inspired Model Session | Springfield MO
"The eye should learn to listen before it looks" - Robert Frank
Black and white photography has a way of stripping away the unnecessary, the distracting. It exposes an honest view into the life of the subject. It can also evoke mystery and leave a lingering question with the viewer.
When we think of black and white photography we often think first of the contrast between light and shadow. But, contrasts in texture, theme, mood and setting within a single image are equally compelling. With this session, Ciera and I set out to express a contrast in classic femininity with self-assured strength; a common recipe among today's young women. The elegant wardrobe set against the rough, unexpected textures of the settings create a sense of mystery in the story. The fun part as the viewer is imagining what that story might be.
A little about BND Senior Spokesmodel, Ciera! She's a 2017 Senior at Kickapoo High School. This is our 4th session together! We've had so much fun this year. Be sure to check out Ciera's other sessions: at the Ozark Empire Fair and another glam session on Commercial Street. Her Summer session on the farm will be on the blog soon, so watch for that!
