Adventurous Senior Pictures with Mariah
A few years ago I shot a girl's senior pictures at this rustic railroad bridge in rural southwest Missouri. I always knew I wanted to come back someday and shoot the same location again but with a glam twist. One of my favorite things to capture in my senior photography is contrast. There's more to contrast than just light and dark. Contrast in textures and themes can be very striking, too. I couldn't shake this image in my head of a super classy prom dress against these huge rustic beams. A very specific image and pose literally showed up in my dreams again and again.
Knowing Mariah, one of my #BNDSeniors spokesmodels, is always up for an adventure she agreed to model this styled shoot for me. I scoured thrift shops and found the perfect dress, then gathered up some classy understated jewelry. When we met for the session she said, "I have a surprise for you!" She had a classic chair and gold framed mirror in her SUV. Awesome, because we found the perfect spot to create a dreamy fairy tale look complete with sunset in the background. I love collaborating with my senior clients to create not just my vision but theirs as well. Sometimes it works and sometimes it REALLY works...
