Brandi - MOD Squad 2021
Whoaaaaaaahhhh! I just finished Brandi’s final edits for her print order and sent her digital archive to her. There are well over 100 images of pure gorgeousness. Wait, who’s Brandi? you ask… Brandi is a 2021 Senior at Clever High School and was part of the BND MOD SQUAD this year!
“I’ve always been someone who likes to be involved in lots of things. I’m involved in many of my schools clubs and have always wanted to do something to change the world. Right now I’m working with some of my teachers to help raise money for underprivileged schools.”
We did 3 full sessions and an in studio warm up session. She had so many looks and ideas and ROCKED THEM ALL.
We started with her warm up shoot in studio. These sessions are so much fun to break the ice and let us get to know each other. I learned her best angles and mannerisms while she got comfortable in front of the camera and learned my posing and directing style. Personally, I love the clean, modern, fashion forward simplicity of these sessions.
In the spring we shot our first full session in downtown Springfield. I love Springfield for the endless photo ops. As you can see Brandi and I both love that editorial look. When I asked her to describe her dream photo session this is what she said…
“Some of the most interesting and fun pictures I’ve seen are ones with neon lights. I love experimenting with different types of lighting and seeing what types of pictures I can come up with. I love vintage clothing so my dream photo shoot would include a fun vintage outfit with lots of neon lights and signs!”
When the flowers were in full bloom we hit the Botanical Center and Japanese Stroll Garden. Again, so many editorial looks but with a little more whimsy and giggles.
For Brandi’s last full session we came back to the studio. This time we focused on her athletic side and love of volleyball. We also got creative with some props and created an ethereal set full of clouds, fairy lights and butterflies!
“I play volleyball with my school and the club Thr33. I also cheer for Clever. Volleyball and cheer are both so important to me! They keep me busy and I’ve made so many friends being involved in them. I’ve learned many leadership skills and have become a much more confident person!”
I have really loved working with Brandi. She’s not only a pretty girl but has a great heart as well. She means it when she says she wants to change the world. You go girl!

P.S. When I read Brandi loved vintage clothes there may or may not have been a happy dance. I LOOOOOVE vintage clothes and thrift shopping as well and had been wanting to do a thrift shop challenge with my squad for some time. So yeah, we made it happen.
