As senior year is wrapping up, these young women were invited to participate in a very special project. A project that asks them to take a moment and refocus on what makes them truly unique and valuable as human beings. It’s important that they launch into adulthood with confidence in their character and knowledge they have the power to make a positive difference in the world.

They have understood the assignment from the beginning.

This is Project Beauty: No Makeup, No Photoshop, All for Charity.

Bella

Who is someone you admire and find truly beautiful? Why?: Someone I admire is my great grandmother Marlene which we call her Mom. I find her so beautiful for all the hard work she has put into her life. She has created 4 generations beautifully and still continues to thrive

What brings you joy?: Pure moments bring me joy. What I mean by this is when friends and family are having fun and there isn’t a care in the world about anything that may be bad. I love being with friends and family. It bring me joy to help others as well.

Everyone has different skills and personality traits that make them valuable. How can YOU make the world a better place?: I believe I could make the world a better place with my ambition to help others, I love to help with all the abilities that I have. I have a big heart that will help anyone.

Which charity / organization did you choose to contribute to? Why?: I chose the Rescue One organization. I chose them because I love their work rescuing animals and adopting the animals to great people. It is important to show animals the love that they show us.

Carley

Who is someone you admire and find truly beautiful? Why?: My grandma Lynda. She is the epitome of beauty! Her kind heart and soft and sweet personality adds to how beautiful she is.

What brings you joy?: Spending time with my family, going to dinner with my friends, and those nights with whoever that end in lots of laughs and good conversations.

Everyone has different skills and personality traits that make them valuable. How can YOU make the world a better place?: I can make the world a better place by reflecting and sharing some of my views and mindset with other people. Not political or personal opinions, but how important it is to protect your energy, spread kindness, and that every day is a new day to start fresh.

Which charity / organization did you choose to contribute to? Why?: Both! Living in a community and going to a school where almost half of the kiddos struggle with not knowing when their next meal is going to be has really hurt my heart. No child needs to worry about where their next meal is going to come from, if they’ll be able to shower, etc. I also regularly donate to animal shelters because I have a shelter cat who we’ve had for almost 10 years, and it warms my heart to know how much she’s spoiled and how much she has blossomed being out of there.

Dally

Who is someone you admire and find truly beautiful? Why?: I find my mom to be very beautiful. With her battling cancer she is always strong, and she always looks amazing. She tries keeping a positive attitude during the entire battle.

What brings you joy?: Things that bring me joy are sports, food and my elementary classes I help teach every day.

Everyone has different skills and personality traits that make them valuable. How can YOU make the world a better place?: I am a bubbly person who likes to contribute joy to others by my smile and jokes. I believe everyone deserves happiness in life.

Which charity / organization did you choose to contribute to? Why?: I chose to donate to Care to Learn. I see that $25 helps 5 people so I would love to help those 5 people!

Jocie

Who is someone you admire and find truly beautiful? Why?: My preacher's wife and my mom they both have inspired me to be who God created me to be. My preacher's wife has pushed me to be a Sunday school teacher and has the same bubbly personality I used to hide. My mom has always been my biggest supporter. They both show me how to be a woman in Christ.

What brings you joy?: Hanging out with my boyfriend. I love creating things that fits people's personality or crocheting.

Everyone has different skills and personality traits that make them valuable. How can YOU make the world a better place?: By spreading positivity. Sharing God's love with the kids I teach and whoever I talk to.

Which charity / organization did you choose to contribute to? Why?: Rescue One because I love animals and have attempted to take in any dumped animals.

Makenna

Who is someone you admire and find truly beautiful? Why?: I admire my Nana! She is beautiful inside & out. She isn’t afraid of standing up for what is right and pushing me to be myself.

What brings you joy?: I really enjoy painting! I also love going out with my friends and spending time with my family.

Everyone has different skills and personality traits that make them valuable. How can YOU make the world a better place?: I can make the world a better place with my passion for equality and the well-being of others.

Which charity / organization did you choose to contribute to? Why?: I chose to contribute to Mental Health America. I chose this because mental health is so important to me, but there is still so much more research and resources needed!

Molly

Who is someone you admire and find truly beautiful? Why?: I would have to say that I admire both my mom and my sister. They are both strong, hard working, determined individual that can do absolutely anything that they put their minds to. They are beautiful inside and out, spreading so much joy and happiness to everyone they meet. They truly make the world a better place.

What brings you joy?: Being around the people that love and support me bring me joy. Being able to help others, or simply make someone else’s day better brings me so much joy. Even if it is just one person, I love being able to make someone’s day.

Everyone has different skills and personality traits that make them valuable. How can YOU make the world a better place?: I feel that I can make the world a better place by leading by example. Having a positive attitude towards life is contagious, you can seriously impact someone by your attitude so why not do it in a positive way. Spread love and happiness, and hopefully by your example, others will too.

Which charity / organization did you choose to contribute to? Why?: I chose to contribute to Rescue One Springfield. I think that not only do humans deserve a second chance, but animals do to. Rescue One gives animals a second chance by rescuing a fostering these animals until they are able to find their forever homes. This organization warms my heart at the thought of being able to help those animals that do not always get the love that they deserve.
